Job Description, Tutor for Culureflow (Mataaho Ltd)
Cultureflow Background
Mataaho Ltd - created the Cultureflow Interactive 2nd language and Culture acquisition programme's.
We provide services that enhance the bicultural development of individuals and organisations nationwide. We are people and team-focused and are proud of the innovative programme's that we have developed. We provide training specifically tailored for the public and private sectors and for individuals who lead busy lives. We also have our programme's in a number of educational facilities throughout New Zealand in order to spread the benefits of the Cultureflow system.
What we do?
Cultureflow programme's are designed to introduce the beginner to te ao Māori, the Māori world, in a positive, non-threatening and entertaining way. The Cultureflow system incorporates face-to-face teaching with a range of support mechanisms, including a course workbook, an audio and an interactive CD-ROM, a specially designed computer game Māui’s Spell.
The learning principles of the programme are to:
- Give the learner confidence through encouragement
- Re-affirm the basic structures through regular practice
- Allow learners to practice speaking and listening
- Provide interactive entertainment to reinforce learning
The main components of the Cultureflow package are currently:
- Eyespeak Māori
- Cultureflow Intro
- Te Kete Tuatahi – Stage 1
- Te Kete Tuarua – Stage 2
Cultureflow Intro is a short pre-Stage 1 introductory course that introduces students to basic reo Māori, basic tikanga and key Treaty of Waitangi concepts.
The Stage 1 programme is designed for absolute beginners and the Stage 2 course is designed as a follow-on for beginners, or revision for people who have already completed reo Māori studies.
The Cultureflow resources (for Stage 1 and Stage 2) include:
- Course workbook
- Audio CD
- Interactive CD-ROM
- Interactive computer game
- Student handbook
Culureflow Training
Full training will be provided prior to the commencement of teaching. This will be provided by the Manager and an existing Cultureflow tutor.
This position reports to the Manager in the first instance and the Directors in the second instance.
