Dale Stephens (CEO of Basketball NZ)
In all of my time I haven't seen a resource more suited to the professional environment. I enjoy the online facility, the word of the day is like my conscience telling me to keep going and the weekly sessions which were initially a lesson in humility became an opportunity to receive encouragement from similarly struggling peers. While I have always had access to whanau support for my reo I have felt uncomfortable about bothering them and Cultureflow has given me access to not only a well structured programme but the support that makes the learning fun. I am now happy that I can learn te reo and that I will be able to use it in every day conversation as well as more structured marae settings.
Dale has over 18 years experience in the NZ Police, has presented national television programme's, and has run his own businesses in New Zealand as well as overseas. His private consultancy and work in the Public Sector means that any training he undertakes must fit around his very busy schedule. We are pleased that he has enjoyed the Cultureflow programme. Nga mihi Dale!
Nikki Bristol (Optimal Usability)
Being fairly new to New Zealand, the Cultureflow course has given me an introduction not only to the Māori language but also to New Zealand culture generally. I think it is very difficult to separate the two and much of the course didn't attempt to.
At the end of a busy day at work, the Cultureflow course provided a light and fun way to learn a credit to both the course design and the tutors chosen.
The accompanying CD-ROM and course structure helped make it easy to learn; returning again and again to the same concepts but in a variety of contexts and mediums.
The course will generally help to enrich my experiences and time in New Zealand. I strongly recommend Cultureflow to all New Zealand newcomers, as well as to New Zealanders wanting to advance their knowledge of the Māori language.
Harima Fraser (Te Puni Kōkiri, Ministry of Māori Development)
He mihi tēnei ki a kōrua, ko Hera rāua ko Jason. I have taught te reo Māori in the public sector for over 10 years and in all of my time I haven't seen a resource more suited to the professional environment.
The resources are well suited to an adult audience, and the interactive style of learning is magnificent if a tutor can't be present.
The support services that Cultureflow offer to enhance their programme are an added bonus, especially for busy workers within this industry who can't always attend tutorials.
Gary Olver (Deputy Principal, Rosehill College).

At Rosehill College providing staff with quality professional development has always been a high priority. After many requests from staff, and with consideration to both the schools’ and the New Zealand Teachers Council requirements under the ‘Satisfactory Teacher Dimensions’, this year the Professional Development Committee, in association with Cultureflow, have had the pleasure to offer staff the opportunity to develop their knowledge of Te Reo, and Tikanga Māori.
The content of the Cultureflow course included information on vocabulary, pronunciation, protocols, origins, and the Treaty of Waitangi. The course was also accompanied by a full workbook, with associated software on CD ROM; and was delivered in an interesting and engaging manner. All dealings with Cultureflow have been extremely professional, and their assistance in this endeavour has been incredibly positive, and has proved a valuable experience.
Employing the services of Cultureflow as an outside provider, not only met the requirements of our staff, the school, and the New Zealand Teachers Council, but meant that this demand has not been seen as the sole-responsibility of the few Māori staff employed at Rosehill College. It has helped to provide staff with the skills they need to have in a contemporary New Zealand classroom.
Testimonial from Ray Ahipene-Mercer – from Wellington City Council
I'm not a fluent speaker, but I like to think I can handle myself in te reo situations. I'm enjoying the refresher and being in the classroom with my Councillor colleagues - to tautoko them.
The Cultureflow Intro makes learning about the Treaty and basic te reo really easy. Peta explains those more complex language structures so clearly, it's a no-brainer. I should know, I've been around long enough to know the difference.
